Dr Frances Giampapa

Dr Frances Giampapa is a Senior Lecturer in education with a specialism in second language education at the School of Education, University of Bristol. She brings a strong research profile driven by critical ethnographic and creative approaches to researching the reproduction of linguistic and social inequalities in schools.

Frances has a long-standing working relationship with LA nurseries in Bristol and beyond. She is a member of the Bristol & Bath ECHO branch of Early Education which champions equitable early childhood education.

Frances was awarded a University Enterprise Fellow (2023/24) to advance their work on the Researchful Practice Toolkit.

Dr Rachel Helme

Dr Rachel Helme is a Lecturer in PGCE Mathematics at the School of Education, University of Bristol. She is a former secondary school teacher who continues to work with other teachers to improve students’ experiences of learning mathematics. She has an extensive research background in creative and participatory methods, including a specific focus on participant voice and the affective nature of identity work.

Rachel is currently the research assistant for the Researchful Practice Toolkit project 2023/24.

Dr Claire Lee

Dr Claire Lee is an early career research fellow in the Department of Psychology, Health and Professional Development at Oxford Brookes University. Her research is committed to creating spaces for dialogue with children and using arts-based and multimodal methods to explore the things that matter to them.

She was the research assistant on the Researchful Practice Toolkit from 2021 to 2023. She is currently a research collaborator and critical friend on the toolkit.
